Original articles are sought, not yet published in any language and not currently under consideration by other forums.
The ISJHR publishes original research articles (4000 to 10000 words) and shorter commentary pieces (1000 to 3000 words) providing a new point of view on any topic relating to humor research. All submissions will be Double Blind peer-reviewed.
The ISJHR also publishes short communications concerning new ideas, future research projects etc. (1,000 to 1,500 words).

Peer-Reviewed Articles
Please submit articles in a Word file, with an accompanying pdf file. Avoid using automatic running heads/footers and turn off any automatic formatting, especially numbering. Endnotes should be kept to a minimum.
The title of the article should appear at the top of the first page, followed by the author’s full name, affiliation and e-mail address.
Each article must include an abstract of about ten lines and a list of up to 5 keywords.

Figures

Figures must be submitted as electronic graphic files,(gif or jpeg). Captions must be provided for all figures. Figures should be placed in  the appropriate position in the body of the text.

Proofs
Authors might receive page proofs for correction, which must be returned  to the editor according to the publication schedule.

Editing
The editorial staff of the ISJHR reserves the right to edit articles and book reviews, both for content and style. In case of substantial changes the paper will be sent  to the author for checking before publication.

Copyright and journal policy
As usual with scholarly journals, in case of acceptance and publication the authors agree beforehand to the copyright being transferred to the journal. They retain, as usual, the right to publish their paper again,  provided that prior publication in the ISJHR is acknowledged. In some cases according to the editorial decision, articles will be translated and published in the Hebrew e.Journal.
This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.

Citations Guidelines

The font should be Times New Roman, in 12 point font.
Articles in the humanities may, if authors wish, provide the publication data in footnotes. It is however preferred that bibliographic entries appear in references section (works cited only), at the end of the paper. The format for citations should be as follows :

    Ritterband and Wechsler (1994)
(Singer et al. 1901–1906; Armstrong 1985)
    Uther (2004, Vol. 2, p. 433)
    Swieringa (1994, p. 102)
Swieringa (1994, p. 104, his brackets and ellipse)

Appendixes, if any, should appear before the bibliography, if the bibliographic entries are not given in footnotes.
